Here is the April, 2019 list of Best Selling Business Books from the New York Times – Bad Blood at #1; Dare to Lead by Brené Brown close behind

Bad BloodThe New York Times has published its list of best selling business books for April, 2019Bad Blood, the story of Theranos, is at the top.  This is getting the multimedia treatment, with a documentary now available on one of the streaming services, and a movie starring Jennifer Lawrence on the way. We are intrigued by this big story of untruth.

A new book that just came out will, I predict, be on this list soon: Nine Lies about Work by Marcus Buckingham and Ashley Goodall.  (Marcus Buckingham is the “strengths” expert).  I have selected it as one of my two books to present at the May 3 First Friday Book Synopsis.

Of the ten books on this month’s list, we have presented synopses of six of them at the First Friday Book Synopsis, our monthly event in Dallas (now in our 22nd  year).  I have presented the synopses of Dare to Lead, Atomic Habits, The Power of Habit, and Extreme Ownership.  My former colleague, Karl Krayer, presented synopses of Grit and Thinking, Fast and Slow.

Still in the top 2

Still at #2

Here’s what we know:  we don’t yet know everything we should know.  And we forget, all too easily, what we have “learned.”  Reading good books is one way to keep our knowledge bank full, and ready to put to use.
